What is MetaTrader 5?

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is a widely used electronic trading platform developed by MetaQuotes. Traders use it to analyze markets, place and manage orders, and run automated strategies through brokers that offer MT5 connectivity.

Unlike a broker or exchange, MT5 is the software environment where trading happens — providing charts, order types, risk tools, and support for Expert Advisors (EAs) and custom indicators.
